WebRick, I contacted Elecraft tech support to assist with troubleshooting. We suspected the transformer had become delaminated and was the likely culprit. The transformer and amplifier worked fine but had the loud hum/buzz when driven with RF. The amplifier was not under warranty. WebJun 8, 2016 · I am using SDRplay with HDSDR software and linked to my Elecraft K3 using DxLab's Commander. This all seems to work well with one exception and that is when I put the radio into split for working a DX station the VFO in HDSDR reflects my split frequency as it should however the actual receive is still from my VFO A not VFO B. WebAug 15, 2010 · Every Elecraft owner I've ever talked to raves about the support, so it's my turn to find out. If nothing else, it gives me something else to write about BTW, I did get to play with W6NIA's fully loaded K3, and all I have to say is WOW!! I have never used a rig this good before, and it blew me away. WebAug 19, 2024 · After conferring with Elecraft tech support and getting the agreement that me re-soldering it would not void warranty, I re-soldered it, used another piece of schrink tube, etc. After opening en closing a few more times and having to fiddle with the battery wire, I cut the battery wire to length and re-re-did the soldering. Never looked back.

Too much in my opinion ... Elecraft Tech Support answered all my questions via email very quickly. My kit had one bad capacitor which was replaced very quickly by Elecraft. Alignment was easy to accomplish with a DMM.
