You are normally looking at 4 to 5 bales high, depending on how high you want to lift them, so 100 psf would not be unreasonable, depending on how many bales high you can stack. Hope this helps. The hay elevator can be powered by a gas or electric motor. I recently sold a like new one with a 20 ft extension and including the electric motor for $500. I do have 120 volt power in the barn, so that is doable.
